Guy Kieckhefer, 54, of Hartland, Wisconsin, died February 26th, 2011 after a courageous and hopeful two year fight with lung cancer. He was surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family at the family farm he cared deeply about. He is survived by wife Paddy (nee Fullerton) and college sweetheart of 36 years, and sons, Guy Norton Kieckhefer III and Trevor William Kieckhefer. Guy was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, canoe, hike, and ski the terrain of Wisconsin, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather before him. He was proud of his German heritage and the role of the Kieckhefer family in Milwaukee history. One of his proudest achievement was passing on his great passions and all things Kieckhefer to his two sons. It was with great joy that Paddy and Guy welcomed a German Young Life student, Hannah Thomae, and reveled in experiencing a 'daughter' to share the love and warmth of family. Guy was an avid soccer and tennis player, playing with his state league senior team at the United States Tennis Association’s regional tournament in Indianapolis after completing difficult chemotherapy. Guy also participated as a Young Life leader, and a soccer and tennis coach with youth. Other hobbies included his German stamp collection, opera and carpentry. Guy was the son of the late Guy Norton and Patricia Kenney Kieckhefer . He grew up in Waukesha and graduated from University Lake School . He attended University of Chicago and transferred to the University of Wisconsin, receiving a BA in business. Guy was a member and past president of Heiliger Huegel, and an active member of the Oconomowoc Lake Club and Westbrook Church. Guy is further survived by his sister, Sara Kieckhefer Turner of New York, NY, his niece, Elspeth Snow Turner, many Kieckhefer and Kenney relations, his brothers-in-law Ben (Kelly) Fullerton of Oconomowoc and Dan (Liz) Fullerton of Atlanta, GA and their children.
