Gerald Casimir Czemierys

Gerald C. Czemierys, age 87, of Dousman, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Azura Memory Care Assisted Living in Oconomowoc, WI. He was born December 6, 1933 to Jack and Mary Stella Czemierys, in West Allis, WI. He grew up in West Allis, where he was a straight A student, all the way from 1st grade through 12th grade graduation. Grandma kept all of his report cards. He was a genius, and graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was successful in business, opening Zenith stores in Milwaukee. He enjoyed traveling with his family, from Florida to Canada and everywhere in between, every year. He was a pilot, with his own Cessna 172, and landed on an abandoned airstrip on an island in Ontario Canada, where he built a cabin and, with his wife, Shirley, welcomed his daughter, Carré. He was an avid fisherman and guide, who always went "catching". Gerald and Shirley were ordained ministers, graduating from Christian Retreat in Bradenton, FL. They preceded back home to Canada after they moved to the Village of Allenwater Bridge where they became missionaries to the natives, and saved many lives. Gerald is survived by his daughter, Carré; he was step-father to Merry Uhrinek and Laurel Whelan; and second cousin, Angela LaGalbo; and many others. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his son, Jerry Michael; and his step-children, Linda Bennett and Joseph Barner. A private graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Elmbrook Humane Society would be appreciated in honor of Gerald's legendary love of cats.
